The Roofer on the Legion Fish Fry Menu, Serving White Oak Since 1995
If you’ve grabbed a cod dinner at the White Oak American Legion on a Friday during Lent, you’ve seen our name at the bottom of the menu. Bella Construction & Development sponsors it because this borough has kept us busy and treated us well for years. We’re based about twenty minutes away at our shop in Irwin, we’ve been in business since 1995, and we carry the credentials that matter: Owens Corning Platinum Preferred, an A+ BBB rating, and PA license PA#50898.
Cape Cods, brick ranches, and roofs with stories
White Oak’s housing stock has a distinct personality. The borough grew as families moved up the hill from the Mon Valley mill towns, so the streets around White Oak Park and off Lincoln Way are full of Cape Cods, sturdy brick ranches, and compact two story homes from the 1940s through the 1960s. These are well built houses, but many are carrying roofs, gutters, and doors installed two or three owners ago. On Cape Cods especially, we watch the tight attic spaces, because poor ventilation up there cooks shingles from below and shows up as premature aging that surprises homeowners.
Work we're proud to point to in this borough
One of our favorite recent projects here was a classic White Oak Cape Cod that we transformed with a full metal roof and new commercial style seamless gutters. It’s a good example of how we think: match the material to the house and the homeowner’s timeline, not to whatever’s on the truck. Day to day, most of our work in the borough is asphalt shingle roofing, along with siding for postwar frame houses, seamless gutters to replace sagging originals, and entry and storm doors that tighten up drafty midcentury openings.
Weather above the Mon Valley
Sitting on the high ground above McKeesport, the borough takes western Pennsylvania weather without much of a windbreak. Winter freeze and thaw cycles pry at shingle edges and work old gutter spikes loose. Summer thunderstorms climbing out of the valley can drop hail and hard wind with little warning. And on the many streets shaded by the mature trees this town is named for, roofs dry slowly and gutters fill fast every fall, which sets up the ice dam calls we field every January. An older roof can handle all of this. An older neglected roof can’t, and the difference is usually one inspection a year.
Why homeowners here call Irwin instead of Pittsburgh
Storm chasers and city outfits treat this area as a place to grab jobs, not keep promises. We can’t afford that attitude. Our shop is a straight shot away, our name is on the Legion menu, and the people we work for here run into us around town. So we show up when we say, we clean up like we were never there, and we come back fast if anything needs attention under warranty. If you’re weighing several bids right now, our guide to choosing a Pittsburgh area roofer gives you the exact checklist we’d use ourselves.
What White Oak homeowners want to know
Do you install metal roofs in White Oak?
Yes. We’ve installed metal roofing right here in the borough, including a full Cape Cod transformation, and we’ll give you an honest comparison of metal versus architectural shingles for your budget and how long you plan to stay.
Are you the roofing company on the Legion fish fry menu?
That’s us. We’re proud to back the White Oak American Legion, and yes, plenty of homeowners have hired us after seeing that placemat. Community sponsorship only works if the work backs it up.
How much should I budget for a roof here?
Most homes in the borough land between $9,000 and $16,000 for a quality shingle replacement, with metal running higher but lasting decades longer. We put exact numbers in writing after a free inspection.

Randy TonksTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. People were very informative and kept me up to date on work schedule due to weather. Workers were professional and cleaned up after work was completed. Would recommend them to do anyone's roof. Joe RaymondTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently had Bella Construction do siding replacement on our home and we're very pleased with the results. The team was professional and courteous. This is our second project with them and we highly recommend them. Jeff RoseTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Bella Construction recently installed a new roof and skylights for our home. We considered several other companies, but Bella Construction stood out as the most professional, which instilled in us a great sense of confidence. On a Tuesday, they delivered the necessary materials, and the next day, they began the work. They completed the entire project on the same day. The crew was professional and conscientious. They used tarps to protect exposed window sections and kept the work area clean throughout. After the project was finished, a supervisor returned to check on things. They ensured that the cleanup was done properly and addressed any questions or concerns we may have had. Price wasn’t our primary concern. While you can always find cheaper options, Bella Construction offered very fair prices. We are extremely confident that they stand behind the craftsmanship and warranty. We highly recommend Bella Construction and would rate them 10 out of 10. Kathy PetersenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a leak through my attic into my kitchen during the heavy rains in June. I had a roof inspection the day I called Bella and later that day a tarp was placed on the roof to stop the leakage. 3 weeks later my roof was removed and replaced all in 1 day. I was very pleased. Barbara McCulloughTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Bella Construction replaced my roof on my home. They were kind, courteous and efficient . The work was done in a timely manner. They cleaned up very well, down to the nails in the driveway. I had no flat tires from nails.. I would highly recommend this construction company and have told my friends to keep them in mind when home remodeling needs done. If I ever need doors or windows I will definitely give them a call.Google rating score: 4.7 of 5, based on 707 reviews
